Let the Results Speak
Article by Paul Hopkins, Nutrition & Fitness Coach
When is the last time you tracked your results? Maybe you need to reconsider your plan.
Tracking your daily habits and results is an absolute must for your diet. By not taking ten minutes out of your day to track these items, you have created certain failure.
Look at it from the perspective of a test done in a laboratory. In a laboratory, they typically are testing to find out if something works or doesn’t (Just like dieting and exercise). To set up the test, the scientists have a control and an experiment. The control is there to verify the results. They track all of the starting data and continue to track their project until the very end. At the end of the test, they take
the results and compare them to find out if their product worked or failed.
The above is pretty basic right? Now picture their experiment if they did not track their experiment throughout the test. How could they verify their results? Answer is they would not be able to determine anything from their tests. In other words, they wasted all that time and will have to start over. Hopefully, the next time they will track their results.
Now relate the above into your health regimen. Your body is the experiment, your kitchen and gym the lab. Track your progress from here on out. What did you eat, how did your work out, how did you feel, measurements, and weight. I know it’s a lot to do. However, by tracking these results, you can verify if your plan really works or if it is a dud.
Many people spend years on their health regimens only to inch along. This is because they do not track their results. By not tracking their results, two things happen. Either this person will jump from diet to diet hoping they lose weight and get fit or they will continue down the same path over and over when it doesn’t work. You pick either one and you’ve failed.
Long story short, you can speed up your results by knowing what works and doesn’t work. Having the data in front of you let’s you instantly know if you are on the right path. Plus, the added knowledge of your body let’s you make better adjustments to speed up results.
